Hi,

2700 members!!! And all of you real! No bots, no ghost accounts, just real Kurzweil users. It’s awesome!

The time of the year to the renewal of the website server and domain is coming. As you all know, this site is NOT sponsored monetarily by Kurzweil. Yes, I work there. No, the company doesn’t pay for this site. That gives us some freedom here to be independent. Every “good bunch of years” I might get a check from the Google Ads that will cover part of that year’s cost only! So, I cannot rely just on that to fund the site.

In the past we used to have a Donation button but those buttons stopped working as they used to as PayPal is now treating them as a “charity org”.

But, there are TWO ways for you to still send me a voluntary contribution (Recommended $5) and that’s via regular PayPal, if you have an account, or via Venmo. For both ways, you first send me an email to ksetlistadm@gmail.com and there I’ll give you the details. That way we’ll keep avoiding bots, spammers and scammers.

This donation is totally optional. Ksetlist is free. But it helps.

RE: Editing Programs using the PC4 SE Editor on PC

Hi,

I've got the PC4 SE Editor on a WIN10 PC connected to my PC4 SE and when working with MULTI's, everything works as expected:

* when I click on the name of a User MULTI in the Editor, the MULTI on the keyboard changes

* when I make edits in the editor, they happen on the keyboard

However, when I do the exact same thing with User Programs:

* when I click on the name of a User Program in the Editor, the Program on the keyboard does NOT change

* when I make edits in the editor, they do NOT get applied on the keyboard

When I click programs and make Edits in the Editor...I DO see the 2 Midi "Activity" icons on the keyboard display panel light up...so it seems to be aware that I'm using the Editor...but nothing actually happens to the Program

I'm trying to make edits to.

Any thoughts about why this is happening and how I can fix it?

Worth to move from PC3X to PC4?

Hello All,

This year i have sold my SP5-8 en bought a slightly damaged PC3X. Some of the keys where melted and the backlight of the screen didn't work. I have changed the molten keys and changed the screen. Now it is fully functional. I really like the instrument. Especially the electric piano and KB3 sounds. The only disadvance is the weight. Quite heavy when taking it to gigs. The other band menbers are not very eager to help carry the thing.

So, I have been looking at the specs of the PC4. Which is much lighter.

Can anyone tell how it differs soundwise? Is the overal sound of the PC4 better? Speaking of piano, EP and KB3

I would like to know if the extra money is worth it.

Assumming that the keyboard and overall design has the same quality as the PC3

Unfortunately I live a long distance from musicstores which have the PC4 in stock to compare it.

I bought K2700 second hand, and there I found many patches which names start with "UFP", such as "UFP-Credit pad", "UFP-StereoStream". Anyone knows what sound library is this?

Dear Ksetlisters,

It’s been a while since I wrote you here. I have been very busy working on the upcoming K2088 and K2061, two very nice boards that I hope some of you will get and enjoy.

Spring is the time of the year when I need to renew the security certificate ($99) and the domain renewal (this part is cheaper). The security certificate is needed so that the browsers don’t complain about the website. It’s a money grab, really. But, it’s really necessary if we want to have a functional Ksetlist.

As you know, this site is not sponsored by Kurzweil. Yes, I work there, but I started Ksetlist many many years ago before the security certificates were even a mandatory thing, just to have a place to share sounds for Kurzweil keyboards.

This year I’d like to ask for 20 volunteers that have never donated before to click on that yellow donate button in the site and donate those $5 that will keep this site alive. As I always write here, because it’s true, I should raise the $99 or my wife will be mad. And you don’t want her to be mad. Believe me!

Some people have donated multiple years (Thank you all!) but I think this is the year for those of you who have never done it and have downloaded some of the awesome sounds that other people have shared with all of us, to donate for the first time. Just click on the donate button and put those $5 to keep Ksetlist alive.

Random notes playing

Using a PC3k-7 and also have it midi'd out to a controller board (midi ch 2). Kurz work fine but controller board now playing random notes and cutting out. Suggestions?

PC4-88 keybed

Well, I received my PC4-88 and had a chance to play with it for a few weeks, frustratingly I ended up returning it. I liked the overall functionality and found the interface to be pretty intuitive, but I just couldn't get past the sluggish keyboard action. The return rate of the keys is too slow, leaving a gap under my fingers when a key is released and then having to wait before I could play a new note.

It's the same issue I found on the Roland RD2000 and few other keyboards I recently tried out.

Its really a shame as I think I could have really like the PC4 overall, but I just can't get past the action.

I'll keep an eye out for what ever is next from Kurzweil, and hope I get a chance to revisit their keyboards.

My time in the forum has been short, but I expect to keep a background presence for a while.

Hello all,

I have an issue with the PC3k7 not powering up. Originally thought it was fuse related but that's not the case. Have heard Kore 64 install may not be connecting properly. Taking in to a tech next week. Anyone else had this issue?

Can an SP6-7 mod wheel control multiple parameters?

Hi gang!

I would like to program the mod wheel on my SP6-7 to control multiple parameters simultaneously- eg to blend between two KB3 drawbar settings, while also increasing distortion and adjusting EQ.

I have been looking through the desktop Soundtower editor, and the iOS app, and have tried various different Kurzweil manuals to try and work it out, but no joy so far!

Anyone know if this is possible?
