I’m a bit of a purist when it comes to sound design I love digging into the synth engine and creating all my patches completely from scratch rather than relying on pre-made soundbanks.

The instructions in the Juno video will mostly work on PC3, since VAST is basically the same, BUT you won’t have all the controls available. The K2061 has a row of 9 knobs and a row of 9 buttons as well as the 9 sliders, but the PC3 is limited to 9 sliders, a modwheel and a variation button. So you will have to decide which controls to leave out.

For example, on the PC3 you could decide to choose the following controls - which actually follow the original Juno 6 from left to right across the panel (I had a Juno 6 in the mid 80s) :

1. Saw / Pulse (mix)

2. PWM depth

3. Sub-Oct Square level

4. Filter

5. Resonance

6. Filter Env depth (using AmpEnv)

7. Attack

8. Decay

9. Release

Mod Wheel = Vibrato

Switch: = Chorus On/Off

You would be missing several controls (including the highpass control, the LFO speed and the noise level), but you can still do a lot.

Even though there are no buttons to switch the waveforms on and off (on the Juno there was Saw, Pulse and Sub-Oct Square) in the above example I have put both Saw and Pulse on one slider. You do this by using the Output page ‘Crossfade’ parameter, for both Saw and Pulse, making one fade out and the other fade in.
