Just wondering if anyone out there has a really cheezy $9.95 K-Mart Toy Piano sound for the PC3K? ![]()
I might take a shot at programming one by myself starting with a xylophone or celesta sound, but I'm really totally green at sound programming.
If someone out there has already made one or could whip one up in 20 minutes that would save me from stressing out trying to navigate the Kurz menus.
What I'm looking for is that typical toy piano sound of "thud-ding-clank" in a format that plays across 8 octaves with an evenly tempered scale. I'm really just curious about this from a theoretical standpoint though. I don't have any songs that absolutely require it, but I'd love to incorporate it into a future project. ![]()
Thanks in advance for your time and effort ![]()

Don't waste money. Do it yourself, you will have a satisfaction:)
I had a toy piano sound on my K2000 but now that I have a PC3 there is none. Any help?
I miss it and will have a need in the fall for it.
There's a "Fake Toy Piano" for the K2K series. The conversion to PC3 is pretty bad, though. It's on Kurzweil's archive site http://kurzweil.com/content/migration/downloads/pub/Kurzweil/Pro_Products/K2000-K2vx-K2500/Programs/K2VXPRGS.ZIP with filename K2VXPRG2.K25
One of the programs in K2VXPRG2.K25 is:
Program 225 472 Fake Toy Piano
K2VXPRG2.K25 is in this zip file (because maybe the Forte will load it better?) and a listing.
The TOYPNO.PLE file that I put together has the original conversion on a PC3LE and a variation. The variation changes a keymap from a piano to keymap 360 Glockenspiel. It's also OK with keymap 183 Bell Wave. You won't get 88 keys out of it. Seems barely workable from C4 to C6.
Here's the listing of TOYPNO.PLE; nothing much.
TOYPNO.PLE 1988
Type ID Size Lyr Category Name
Program 1030 968 2 None Fake Toy Piano
Program 1031 980 2 None Fake Toy Piano 2
For you fortunate folks with sample memory, there's a toy piano sample in http://kurzweil.com/content/migration/downloads/pub/Users/Samples/Miscellaneous/
at toypiano.zip
(How did I find these? I looked at the text files I made in 2009 of all the public domain files on Kurzweil's and Sweetwater Sound's web sites. You can go to stubbsonic's site and get K2K_PDInfo2.zip and join the fun! Maybe it should be put into a database of some kind, eh?)
Enjoy!

Looking around more, I found these...
Model Object ID# Size Lyr Category Name forte Program 317 2492 5 Hybrid Toy Piano ftse Program 441 3072 7 None Kinderklavier sp6 Setup 124 11880 4 Child's Toys sp6 Program 155 3012 7 Synth Kinderklavier
Maybe someone would be kind enough to describe Forte program 317, so it could be re-created?
(assuming it sounds like its name)
