Hello
I purchased my Kurzweil SP 4-7 three years ago and lately I've been having troubles with the power converter that came along with it, or least I think the problem is there? When I move it around, or accidentally kick it a bit when it's on the floor, with the power on and keyboard is jacked to the amp, it can make quite loud distorted, screeching noise. Sometimes, when I turn it on, there is also some wobble with the sounds in keyboard itself, lasts about 20-30 secs, then it stabilize.
Anyone had similar problems?
The power converter specifications are:
15V DC, 1.0 amp, center pin
positive, 5.5mm OD, 2.5mm ID
coax type plug.
Anyone knows can I use the other manufacturers power converter with Kurzweil?
I'd say you've answered your own question. Stop using the power supply immediately and replace it with a new one! If it keeps glitching out like that it may cause serious damage to the piano. Replace it before you blow out something major on the board.

PS. DON'T replace it with a generic supply. It's probably a regulated supply and using an unregulated supply would be a disaster waiting to happen.
Order the correct part from Kurzweil.

Tried to do that but since I live in Finland,Europe, they couldn't help. First they offered this but that's not the right one:

"Since you are in Finland/Europe, you will have to contact your Kurzweil distributor in Finland or Europe. We are the US only wholesale distributor for Kurzweil parts and products. We sell parts through our authorized dealers and service centers only."
Finnish dealer has not answered me yet. I have tried to google the right converter but no luck for that either?
