Hi gang!

I would like to program the mod wheel on my SP6-7 to control multiple parameters simultaneously- eg to blend between two KB3 drawbar settings, while also increasing distortion and adjusting EQ.

I have been looking through the desktop Soundtower editor, and the iOS app, and have tried various different Kurzweil manuals to try and work it out, but no joy so far!

Anyone know if this is possible?

Many thanks

Mark

The short answer is yes, any CC controller can control more that one parameter. I no longer have a SP6 so this is more of a general reponse of how you would approach this in VAST.

Think of it this way - the mod wheel is simply a continuous controller with a CC identifing number of 1 that generates a midi control value in the range or 1 - 127 when it is moved.

In program editor mode any parameter can be set to respond to the value generated by a midi cc controller, what you need to do is set the parameter you want to change to respond to CC 1 in the way you want it to.

So if you want to blend between two sounds, one of them should be set to increase in volume as the CC 1 value increases and the other to decrease as CC 1 increases.

(Note that if you are using a Multi, then use CC1 to control zone levels, one zone responding with a min volume level for a CC 1 value of 0 and max volume level for a CC 1 value of 127 and the other with a min volume level for a CC 1 value of 127 and a max volume for a CC 1 value of 0)

To vary FX such as distortion level or EQ, apply the same logic by setting the FX control parameters to respond to CC 1, increasing distrotion level or varying the frequency response of the equalizer as required.

Not sure if that fully answers your question but hopefully gives you a start.
