Hey!

Maybe buying first kurz keyboard. I was thinking that maybe this keyboard cant handle an interruptable sound change situation from any sound to any sound in any of the available modes/functionalities with exception of maybe setup mode, which would be logical I think?!

Meaning, that you could put piano to first channel/zone and strings to second. Maybe zone 3 and 16 could have a layer. Then somehow you could choose the zone1 or z2 or z3 properly via button or something, can this be done?

so that if you sustain a finger pressed chord with a pedal when u r on the z1 piano and then press something so that u switch to z2, and then release the pedal and strike a new chord on the strings, the piano would naturally fade-away compared like lifting up fingers and no oddities would happen?

Maybe the coolist thing would be so that the pads could trigger the zones?

Any views on the matter? My googling/forum/manual searching didnt provide 1/1 solutions. Poor me if these are already answered :/

You have a bad setting. I can go from a strings program to a piano program and the strings continue to sound until I release all of the notes. Re-read the MIDI section of the manual. One of your MIDI settings needs adjusting.

IMHO it is an not real discussion because this is not a real setting, just a brain dump?
Of course you can layer/split your sounds at any part of the keyboard.
Of course you enable/disable them with the pads.
Of course you can change values with pedal or rotating knobs.
But zone switching? Not firm enough to ack yet, I spend not enough time with my le for now, I'm new to kurzweil too.
Sounds like the concept I have seen at a korg years ago ...

currently: Kurzweil PC3LE8, Korg N5
previous: Yamaha DX7, Korg DW-6000, Yamaha SY22, Akai sg01p

okay, thanks.

If you have a hammond sound, and you change sound to whatever else, does this apply too, or if you have a highly distorted guitar sound and you switch to for example to piano is it a smooth change?

Yes, the change is smooth, except for the hammond due to the number of dsp units the leslie takes up. But if you jump from one sound to another and are not near the dsp unit limit the transition is smooth.

Thank u so much for the response. Is there any way to have a sound change from hammond to something else work smoothly?
