Hello, my new Kurzweil family.

My name is John, Jc to most, and I live in Phoenix AZ. You can see where my incredibly complex username derives from

I have recently (as in, 2 days ago) ordered my first Kurzweil product ever: the Forte, and was directed here for learning resources. I fell in love with Kurzweil in the 80s, but could never afford such a beast at the time. Later, it seemed to slip from my radar for a while, until the PC3K line showed up in my research for a Workstation-class machine. With the help of many Gearslutz members and Dave Weiser, the Forte became my board of choice.

As for me, what's to tell (haha). I started playing piano at 13 (untrained, played by ear) and joined my first (of many) rock band in 1982. Played all over So Cal for 6 years until I left L.A. behind and relocated to Phoenix in 1990, where I have been since.

These days I mostly do solo projects or record with others in my home studio helping locals make decent quality demos of their stuff. It's a ton of fun, and has opened me up to many other genres than ProgRock or weepy piano ballads.

Happy to be here, and can't wait to unbox the Forte this coming week!
