Hi everyone, Allan Evett here -
I've been a PC3 / PC3X owner, plus had a couple of the K-series instruments back in the 1990's. Currently gig with a Forte 7, and am intrigued with forward compatability from the PC3. One of my PC3's saw a lot of stage use back around 2010, so I am looking forward to downloading Programs / Setups and seeing how they translate into the Forte. Am also interested in learning more about the nuts-and-bolts of the PC3-based editing interface - as it's coming heavily into play while I dig into VAST on the Forte 7. Looks like there's much to learn here - especially by seeing how fellow users program their keyboards, and utilize them live and in the studio.
I currently gig in my region (NW Indiana), though the live scene is a bit quieter than in years past. But as with my PC3 in a previous life (northern CO, 2008-2014), I'm also finding the Forte 7 to be the perfect size for stage use - especially single keyboard gigs on smaller stages. I also teach piano / keys as a private instructor in the area, do a fair amount of church accompanying, and pick up what occasional shreds of studio work remain.. Throughout all of this, though, I love to geek out on programming - customizing sounds to fit in a variety of places. While I've tweaked and customized lotsa sounds for many different 'boards, VAST has always been a great, yet deep and challenging resource. So I'm diving back into PC3 programming via the Forte 7, and hope to learn a lot - and eventually contribute more - here.
