Hi All. Dipped my toes into the Kurzweil waters by buying a PC3x this week and I am seriously impressed with the board.
I'm based in the North of England and it's quite difficult to try out Kurzweil boards around here so the first experience of Kurzweil was to buy one.
I've playing keyboards for longer than I care to remember (several decades) and when I first turned pro it was in the days of the Fender Rhodes/Wurlitzer, Hammond and Mini Moog. I've owned most keyboards from Mellotrons, ARP 2600 through to Motifs and now spend a lot of my time with software based instruments.
I'm still gigging, albeit on a semi pro basis, with a couple of bands and it was the requirements for high quality sounds coupled with a need for a flexible midi master keyboard that led me to have a look at the PC3. I also enjoy the Fatar keybeds having played, and still owning, a couple of the weighted Studiologic controllers.
I believe that VAST is supposed to be quite complicated but having had to deal with the Yamaha FM synthesis back in the day I'll give it a go. Also got a Kore 64 on the way, a ribbon controller and Dave Weiser's gig packs will soon follow. Dave has supplied me with sounds for my Casio PX5S and they are superb.
Looking forward to spending some time here.
