Since yesterday, when i swith on my pc3le8, all pads start flashing together in random intervals. The display starts showing knob-info, switch-info etc, also in random order, and changing all values.
The keybed doesn't respond at that time.

After i switch it off and on, the device works ok, but all of a sudden it starts flashing again. only thing i can do is switch it off again..

is this a known problem (and more important: is there a solution!)

Starting to wonder if i bought a worn down demo machine from the store..

Self test: all ok.

Contact support. There should be a fix for it.

Dear Fran, (and everyone else)

Today i took the PC3LE8 to my dealer. Prior to bringing it in i mailed him to let him know there's a problem with my device.
He contacted the importer to inform if the problem of my device was a common issue.
He also contacted his repair company (certfied Kurzweil repair facility)

Next thing i heard when i took it in was (!): the importer would take the device back, and perhaps i would be interested in the Artis: it was not the firts PC3LE device that was returned.

To me this is not an option: when i bought the Kurzweil, I had to choose between an Yamaha MOX8 and the PC3LE8.
I would have preferred a pc3x (for it's polyphony and the sliders (kb3!) in stead of the knobs. This device wasn't available anymore..) A PC3K8 was way out of my price range (i had to choose between feeding the kids or buying a Pc3K: the wife was just in time to cancel my order :-))

My problem looks about the same as this one: (and also a reaction that doesn't bring a smile on my face)
http://youtu.be/leY8-fccWyk

for now: i agian have to make a choice: having the pc3le8 repaired (within warranty that is), or buying another device(MOX8 :-( )
If i have it repaired and it is a common issue, it's most logical to assume that it will break down again.
Now here's where Kurzweil (not the importer or my dealer! they care about my money, not my synthesizer) needs to convince me that my Kurzweil error is bad luck, and having it repaired will guarantee years of playing pleasure.
I cannot afford it to break down when i'm on stage.

Fran: do you know if i can send a message like this directly to Kurzweil (other than the repair-link which will guide me to..: the importer)? If so i need to add a little extra information that might be important for my decision.

I would love to keep on playing Kurzweil because of the great sounds, programming possibilitys etc, but it must keep on working...

Thank you, and i will keep you all informed on the forum.

Hallo,

I truly sorry because bad lucky with PC3LE8. I have this keyboard, I have to say, that it's a very good hardware and final touch. I can complain of some things in OS, but very soon in next ver., it will be reparate.
My suggestion is not to change this instrument, maybe only for Artis (but it is much more expensive, but it's a great stage piano, and have a great sound).
Good luck with PC3LE8 reparation.

Pedja.

Je informeren me my Kurz was at the repair company and the reseller would inform me about the progress.
I'm quite patient, but did i mention my gig with my new band on november 17..
We're still building on our repertoire. Me not having a descent board is not very handy at this time :-)
