Hi all,

So I just bought my second PC3 on ebay and this time I would like to get a case that is somewhat sturdier than the http://www.skbcases.com/music/products/proddetail.php?id=106&c=89&o=&s=76 that I have.

I would LOVE this one http://www.skbcases.com/music/products/proddetail.php?f=&id=709&o=&offset=1&c=89&s=76 but it looks like it's .5 in too narrow.

Budget is probably below $300.00USD

Any ideas?

Pete

Go to http://keyboardcases.com . Their prices are not far off from your budget and the cases are custom sized. I bought the case pictured at the top of the page, I've been using it for 10 years. It's been used with my PC88MX, PC2x, and now my PC3K8.

I have been wanting to buy that one for my PC3, but I haven't pulled the trigger, always hoping I will find something better.

What don't you like about it?

I looked at one of those at my local GC and wasn't impressed. You should check it out in person first.

I have an SKB 76 key case I used to use with my PC2. I'm holding on to it, I've been contemplating getting a PC3K7 to use as a "top keyboard' to my PC3K8.

Synthaholic,

That case that I have JUST fits lengthwise. It has what looks like one foot sections of 1/8" plywood wrapped in some fabric as stiffeners around the perimeter. I think there are four in the front and one on the left side. Seems kind of cheap and does little to protect corners.

I get the i case skb tomorrow so I'll post a review then.

I'm basically looking for something that will protect my PC3 in the backseat of my car, and moving it to and from the car. Also, firm enough that I could lay another keyboard (QS7.1, Fusion, etc.) on top of the case without damaging the PC3 or any of the slider/drawbars.

I always use Thomann http://www.thomann.de/gb/thon_keyboard_case_i.htm , if in doubt tell them what keyboard you have an they will give you a quote , for a PC3LE6 it is £94, about 125 US dollars

eCommerce software that lives in the cloud and can be used on multiple websites at the same time (FaceBook #1 ecommerce app) , physical products and digital / sound / audio / downloads - and it's FREE http://www.ecwids.co.uk

Well I've had this case: http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/3i5014KBD for little over a week. My review is mixed at this point.

The Good:
The PC3 fits - barely.
The keyboard seems secure inside without modifications

The Bad:
This case seems to flex a little bit. When you go to close it you have to re-align the top to the bottom so you can latch it.
The material the case is made of seems very soft - I already have a big gouge in the top from sliding something over it.
There is no foam or padding in contact with the perimeter of the keyboard (sides, back and front) the instrument is held in place by four relocatable plastic/lined corners. There is foam under each end and on part of the top.

Conclusion:
For the weight (20lbs) and the cost ($240) I probably could have done better with some type of light ata case. But I'll keep it for now. I doubt I will ever be able to sell it on its own..
