Hey all...
I'm considering buying an SP4-7 to function as a MIDI controller, but I have a few questions.
I'm looking to have it simultaneously send MIDI note data (velocity, pitch bend, mod wheel, etc.) to both a PC connected to it via USB and to an external device which is connected to it via the 5-pin MIDI out port. I just wanted to find out if this is possible...or, it is an either/or implementation?
Right now, I have one MIDI keyboard controller to send note data to my a hardware sound-producing device and I have another USB keyboard controller to play virtual instruments on my PC. I'm looking for a single instrument that can be used in both worlds, simultaneously (in a live environment, actually).
The main feature I like about the SP4-7 (aside from its 76 keys) is its ability to divide up the keyboard into zones. Few recent MIDI controllers have this feature, and most only allow you to split the keyboard into two zones.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Hi goatghost
Yes MIDI is transmitted/received from both the USB and MIDI din ports simultaneously.
