Hi,

Here's the next ksetlist Challenge, Mr. Mister - Broken Wings. Let's see how many sounds you can get for this one. The closest to the original the winner.

Still to figure out a price for this one... something will come up... but you know, ksetlist glory is hard to beat ;-)

Please send your entries to hipogrito (at) gmail (dot) com .
Do not publish your entries here, just send them via email.

Open until Dec 31st 2015.

If it's any help to anyone, I while ago, I made an inventory of the sounds I could distinguish in this song:

I might have a go at this one...

Some more info on the synths used in this song:

https://www.gearslutz.com/board/electro ... h-pad.html

I already figured out the Prophet 600 and the Emulator II from the live videos, but apparently the choir for hymnic middle part ("Let us in....") is from a Fairlight. Doesn't seem to be the well-known "Arr" (think Tears for Fears "Shout"), though, but something more mellow. Maybe the "Oohh" sample from disk #20 "Humans 2"? Keymap #3275 "Mellow Vox" from Kore64 might be a good substitute for that.

Hi,

And we have a winner! Ladies and Gentlemen, mr. JohnEKeys. Hi did a great job on this song. In his own words:

"Done on a PC3K7 with Kore64.

Expression pedal brings in Choir sound and changes higher keys to Middle 8 lead sound. Slider H is set to expression, so can bring in choir etc if no pedal. (B1 C2 together for swish at the beginning, mod wheel to open filter on pad)

This would be a setup I would use to play this song with a band, so no bass/guitar drums etc.

I have been experimenting with putting the chords in the Info section... works ok if put in the zone 1 program info under Mod wheel and the mod wheel is kept as mod wheel in the Zone 1 setup. Very handy to have the chords available here for a reminder.."

Indeed, having the chords there is pretty awesome!

People like John is what makes this site alive.

Keep sharing!!!

Regards,
Fran
