Hey guys,

Had the Kurzweil SP4-8 for a while now. I'm primarily a pianist and I play in a number of church bands, so I've pretty much stuck to the Horiwitz Grand and haven't explored the SP4 much beyond that except for layering in some pads or strings.

However, I've recently started getting into playing more "keyboard" stuff as I'm now involved with the Youth Service as well which requires a more modern sound with a little more vibe.

So I've started looking at the SP4's synth options and am starting to get a little frustrated by it's limitations. Hoping to get some info here to help me make the most out of the SP4.

Hi Sparhawk_ and wellcome to the forum. I have (nearly) the same keyboard like you. I own a sp4/7 and first I have to say, that the Horowitz is a real good piano - sometimes better than the Studio Grand. But it depends on the purpose. I am church musician as well, and I play in a cover-band. Sometimes I use the (wonderful) Kurzweil pianos, sometimes I use my Nord5d.
perhaps I could help you? What is your problem with the synth-sounds?
Regards from Germany
Thomas
