Hi ! My name is Stephane (prononced Stefan). I never had lessons to play keys but I manage to accompany friends in a small band that meets once a month to have beers and fun playing music. We have a generous leader who plays gig and has the necessary equipment (console/amps/mics) to let us play with what we have.
I always loved music as a listener but decided late to try to play myself (above 40
). I bought my PC361 2 years ago and have fun ever since. Having a computers background I find that this keyboard was made for me
The principle of layers that you can overlay makes total sense to me. Love the flexibility and possibilities this thing has. I use the setups to compensate for my lack of skills, layering sounds on multiple octaves to make it fuller and riffs for some arpegios or solos that are too much for me ![]()
As far as sound editing is concerned, for now I just make simple adjustments to the base sounds, the base sounds being such a great start already, but I want to learn. The PC3 is like a mega modular synth ... great possibilities but sometimes no sound or a weird sound gets out and you have to figure out which bad combo of setup you did wrong
But when it works ... Yes !
Anyway thanks for that forum and I'll do my best to contribute. I'm a bit overwhelmed with the skills found here but I'll assume I'm not the only newbie ![]()
Rock on !
P.S BTW I speak english and french if someone needs a reasonable amount of translation
))
Welcome!!
