Hi people in the world and guys at Kurz,
My name is Laurent and I have been the happy owner of a PC3K8 since last saturday. Bought it new at a local dealer and was unfortunate to see a connection problem on the screen (flickering and shutting down intermittently). Brought it back to the store and waiting for repair, it should be ready soon. I'm sure that won't be a big deal, maybe some welding has suffered on the boat to Europe.
I am absolutely in love with the machine. I bought it for the sounds I heard in different demos and couldn't stop playing until late every night since saturday (dont feel like sleeping). The Mellotrons, CP80s and Rhodes are my favorites, so far I have only browsed through presets but will seriously learn VAST. Although I have owned boards for many years (DX-21, D-20, XP-80, Kurz SP88), I have never really learnt to play, so I bought a CD method to study on my own. I loved spending my teenage years creating my own voices on the Yam DX-21 because I enjoyed shaping sounds with the FM synthesis. To that extent, the PC3 is a Graal because it allows far more control and quality. I appreciate absolutely all styles of music and sounds, mainly from 50s to 90s but the PC3 makes me feel like doing some nasty techno just because it sounds great on the PC3. I will buy the Kore64 soon.
I take this chance to thank all the staff at Kurz for working so hard on the design and quality of sounds. Absolutely all of them are usable and sound great when sequenced together. It makes this machine a great deal for a fair price.
I take another chance to ask a question : for almost 30 years, I have always dreamt to own the original Fairlight sounds (Art of Noise, FGTH, JM Jarre in 'Zoolook', etc.), especially those vocal pads (Aah/Ooh/t'heett'h and so on). What would the best way (step procedure) to import them into the PC3 from a good-sounding sample library (where?), in order to edit them in VAST later? Thanks in advance for your replies, best musical regards to everyone. Lau.
Welcome!
Fairlight sounds... I'm sure some people in the forum could give you some clues... let's see if they read the message.
