Hello fellow Music Makers,

My name is Derek Revell, I'm fairly old at 61years, but I've had an interest in making electronic music since 1964, building my first electronic noise making devices at around that time, from various bits and pieces I'd been given, and buying old broken transistor radios at Junk shops, and making weird noises, not much different to today, but the noise making machines I have now are a lot more expensive.

I have owned some very classic well known Analogue Synthesisers, Minimoog Model D, ARP2600 Grey faced, ARP2601 Orange faced, EMS AKS briefcase synthi, I've made a clone of the EMS VCS3, and Synthi A, just for fun.

I have a fairly well spec'd recording studio, using MOTU 24 I/O and 8Pre firewire recording interfaces, using Logic Pro 8, on an Apple Pro Computer.

The first Kurzweil equipment I bought was a 2nd hand Micropiano and was very impressed with the sounds, I then bought a K2500RS again 2nd hand, then moving on to a K2600X, then adding the Sampling board myself, the display backlight failed, and I stripped the display apart and fixed it, I was very surprised to find it was a small Fluorescent tube that illuminated the display, I was sure it was going to be LED's.

The K2600XS will now be going on Ebay for sale soon, as I've just taken delivery of a "Brand New" PC3K8 from Thomman Music.

I love building electronic projects and enclosures. Currently bulding a TTSH ARP 2600 clone synth.

Well I think that's enough about me, I'm very keen to start browsing this Kurzweil forum.
