I'm playing all of Dark Side of the Moon live on July 12th and am doing the whole show on my Kurzweil PC3K7 MIDI'd to a Roland VK-8M. I pretty much have it all programmed, but I'm not happy with what I've come up with for the Any Colour lead sound (the one w/the delay). Anybody got that sound or any tips on getting the delay settings right?

Thanks,
Bill

Hi Bill, I have a setup called " Any color you like" but I'm thinking you have the same one as me already?
Let me know.

Hey Brian,

Yeah, I have a patch by that name from SonikMatter but it's not quite what I was hoping for (I think the patch itself is called Press Lead, but the delay isn't right). I'm thinking of using the Kronos and the Kurzweil for the show since I'll be playing both a Genesis set and a Pink Floyd set, so I might just use the Kronos for that sound.

I was going to email you yesterday to say I was having a blast programming Dark Side of the Moon in the Kurzweil and it made me want to hang onto the keyboard (plus all attempts to sell it have failed!). :lol:

1. program 209 press lead (4 layers);
2. duplicate layer 1 = layer 5 ; page DSPCTL, saw pitch: 12ST;
3. duplicate layer 2 = layer 6 ; page DSPCTL, saw pitch: 12ST;
4. set volume and lowpassfilters' frequency as you like for the 4 layers (1,2,5,6). don't touch layers 3 and 4; all layers, set AMPENV con ATT1=0,10;
5. page PRGFX: AUX1: 707 Empty stage II; send 4 db;
6. page PRGFX: insert: 1 little booth and edit:
7. change the resident DSP with 193 ducked delay; EDIT;
PARA1: wet/dry 45%; out gain: 4db; feedback: 25%; sc (L+R)/2
PARA2: loop crs: 1680ms; L dly crs: 840ms; R dly crs: 1640ms; other parameters to 0;
PARA3: threshold 0db

Wow....that is quite detailed, thank you!!! I will try making these modifications and let you know how it goes. :D

I followed your recipe last night and the results are exactly what I was looking for. Thanks!!
