I read on another forum a post from 2005 that said the ksetlist had a nice lap steel sound that would work on my PC361.
Does anyone know if that is so and how I could find it? I don't know anything about how this forum works. A search for lap steel says the words are too common and it doesn't bring up anything.
I guess I have to know the specific name or how to find it.
I've had the PC361 a few years now but just use the programs that came with it. I recently heard some authentic lap steel sounds on other keyboards on youtube and would really like to get a decent lap steel sound for the PC361.
Thank you,
Bob

I believe you are correct about the sound, but I think it's name is something to do with PED (as in pedal steel).
To get the sound from this site go to the last category under forum, called "ksetlist.com Compilations/Volumes".
There are 2 volumes. Download both and have a search.
If not here, it might be over on the Mastering Vast site.

Hi Bill,
Thanks for your reply. I downloaded the ksetlist volumes one and two. Lots of interesting sounds but no pedal steel. Where is the Mastering Vast Site you mentioned?

Thanks,

Bob

OMG, it's the most important site for the PC3 (no offence Fran):
http://www.cunka.com/forum/index.php

Join AND support it (it's a laughable $5 or $6 a year).

I did a search and didn't see the pedal steel patch there either.
It's either within a bank or it could have come from the old days (from the site that no longer exists).
I'll see if I can find it tonight and post it here (I'll make sure to list the author...to give credit, but it was a publicly posted patch, so there's no copywrite issues).

Found it! - on this site.
Go to the "Vault" and search "Jan" (he's the guy that created it).

BillBK,
Thanks a million for finding this for me! I just downloaded versions 3 & 4 and listened to the demo on soundcloud posted by Jan...

https://soundcloud.com/gasminet/steely- ... ittle-demo

Sounds exactly like what I was looking for. I'll post back after I try them out.

Thank you,
Bob

Hi Bill,
Thanks again for your response. I have been playing with the pedal steel versions for a couple of hours or so and found I like version 3 a little better than version 4, as it is a little more subtle. Found out I needed to use mostly the upper third of the keyboard for the best sounds. The finger movement on the the pitch wheel is the key.

I'm not going to sound as good as Jan in his demo (probably ever) but with some work I may get a passbly decent pedal steel sound. This patch is amazing.

Thanks,
Bob
