Hi
I posted another two User Setups banks for the SP4 series ("SPSetups" Banks 5 & 6) to the Volumes/Compilations area of the site.
I hope SP4 fans will enjoy the sounds.

Hi,
are there some interesting programs/setups to load to PC3(LE) from SP4/5 series? Does the PC3 serie load SP4/5´s objects?
Thanks ;)

Hi Jankob
I don't know the answer to your question, but I am working on reproducing some of the SPSetups sounds on PC3 and will post ASAP.
Thanks

Does the PC3 serie load SP4/5´s objects?

I took a quick look at the version numbers inside the objects of the PC3LE 2.26, SP4 2.10, and SP5 2.20 object files.

The programs, setups, songs, FX algorithm, FX presets, and FX chains all have the same version numbers. So they can probably be exchanged across the models (to some extent).

The SP5 and the PC3LE have the exact same keymaps; name, id, and size.

The SP4 had a master table with v0.15 version, but the SP5 and PC3LE were both v0.11. Since the PC3LE saves its master table with a v0.15 version, even the master tables might be portable.

I also pulled a few programs and a setup from the SP4 and SP5 object files. The PC3LE would not recognize the files unless the file extension was ".PLE". It said "nothing to load" if the file names ended in .SP4 or .SP5 or .SPX.

The setup was #59 "VIP KE Lead". (either sp4 or sp5) It loaded, but setups need all their dependent objects and my object-extractor script doesn't do that, so the programs it wanted were incorrect. But it loaded, so if you save a setup on the SP4/SP5 with all its dependents, it might load OK into the PC3LE.

One program I tried was #118 "12SAWLeadMW" from the SP4 object file. It loaded and played nicely. It's attached to this message.

The other program #148 "RoyalScam Rhds" from the SP5 file. It also loaded and played. I should have compared it to the internal PC3LE #148, but I didn't think to try it at the time. But they have the same type, ID, and size, and a hex comparison shows differences in only the file header (different OS versions) and the end of the file (notes for the PC3LE pads). So, another data point that suggests the PC3LE and SP5 objects are quite compatible.

Maybe that means the PC3LE *can* load SP4 and SP5 objects!
