I am trying to send program changes from my iPad running iMidipatchbay to my Artis SE to access my multi patch layers/splits. It seems I can only get the program changes to work in the program mode only to access the program patches. Yet when I'm in multi-mode; none of the program or bank settings seem to do anything.
Is there a way that I can send a program change to access the multi patches?
thanks in advance
Michael
Hi,
In order to change Multis with MIDI Program Change commands, you need to enable Local Keyboard Channel in Global mode, MIDI page, and set it to the MIDI channel where you will transmit those Program Changes messages.
Page 9-10 on your Artis manual.

Thanks. Once I set these parameters, is there a particular bank or parameter that I would use to match the Multi patches? For example, for me to have the Program #136, Piano and Pad called up, I would use Program 7, Bank MSB 0, and Bank LSB 1. (i.e., Bank LSB 1 accesses Bank B in Program mode). Which one would call up a multi-mode? Now in this mode, would I be able to call up programs in both program and multi?
thanks for your assistance.
You will have to be either all in Program Mode or in Multi Mode.
As you are using some Multis, It's likely easier for you to be in Multi Mode. For those sounds that are simple programs, just create a multi using only one zone with that program in there.
Then, the Program changes are the same concept... the MSB gets multiplied by 128. So, do the math for that.
