My PC3K7 was dead on Saturday... went to turn it on, nothing happened. The previous week it had mysteriously reset itself for no apparent reason a few times. (I attributed to power dip... was not). I am an electronics technician so will now get technical... may help others or a tech you may be working with...
After analysis I found the issue: see picture... the main power input from the transformer was arcing at the connector, could see discoloration on connector... had finally got bad enough to break the connection in the connector.
Quick fix - cut the wires and solder directly to the circuit board... should perhaps now last as long as my K2000! (had it now around 25 years! and got me through my gig Saturday night just fine)
(In my experience connectors are always weak points - most times with the tuning issue (pitch wheel messing up) it is the connector not the module or pot.
