Voodoo,

For the organs, go to the 'tonewl' tab. Upper Volume Adj is probably set somewhere around 10dB, move that back to 0 (as a starting point) and you will see, as BB King says, the SHRILL IS GONE. Adjusting this parameter will remove much of the harshness you are hearing in the upper end.

On the EQ tab there is a parametric EQ. The low end Hz cycle can be changed to whatever Hz cycle you'd like to adjust. Increase the Gain (G) in dB until you have a bass sounding the way you like it. This is one of the heads up areas you should be aware of. I adjusted the param EQs based on headphones and when I got to the gig and started to heavily amplify the KB3 I found that the param EQ had to be readjusted for live sound.

I also found that there was alot of 'leakage'. I could hear the 1' drawbar even when I didn't use the 1' drawbar because the leakage was set that allowed 1' drawbar leakage to occur even when set to -0-. On the MISC page move the leakage of to -76db and you'll see that the hammond will start to sound more 'clean'. As with anything, adjust to taste.

Check pages 6-59, 6-66 and 6-69 in the manual dated 5-27-11 as references for the above.

Many thanks Dave - if there was 'thanks for the heads up button' on this forum - consider it pressed, a wink will have to do though - cheers ;)

Voodoo,

Do you like the piano sound now? It took me a while but for jazz stuff, I like the using the PC3 in certain situations. Overall, the Kronos has a more high fidelity piano and the electric piano I have on the Kronos is ridiculously good, but the PC3 has more keyboard-centric sounds. I like the filters on the PC3 along with the great analog simulations. Just used it last night - worked well when paired with the JP-8000!

Hi Aron,

My LE6 random crashes - all the LEDs blink rapidly - and only a power off /on will fix.
I was getting used to the sounds on the LE6.
The patches in the setup mode - seem wasted to me though. I was expecting lots of piano / strings mixes etc - but instead there seems lots of DJ noise type patches - i'm complaining though as most of the sounds I ever use - were in the normal program mode

Hi,

For blinking LEDs issue, please contact support. There could be a hardware issue with your unit. They will guide you to check on that.

Fran

Just for anyone reading this - LE6 went back as support said probably an issue that needs looking at.

The sounds issue - I have have changed my mind - so would encourage anyone who as the LE series - to have a listen and a full play with all of them, Pianos, EPs, Strings, Brass, Orchestral all great, guitars so so (but I'm not bother re that), Organs - be careful here - the PC3 has the double Leslie effect - the LE series doesnt - and as others have said - that makes (big) difference.

I cant get the sweet hammond sound I used to get from my ESI4000 sampler (I can get lots of other hammond sounds though) which sound ok. I bought a behringer RM600 (yes I know) but it was only a few quid - so worth a look

All in all - it's more than worth the money by a long way

Last ditch effort on KB3 settings:
Tonewl page:
• setup upper vol adj to 0
• set OrganMap to Eric’s
• Set WheelVolMap to Bright
• Reduce the Key Click
EQ Page:
• Adjust Param EQ to a balance you like
Misc page:
• Set Leakage to -96dB
ProgFx:
Check the leslie settings and see if distortion is turned on (it is typically tied to the Mod Wheel) but even with the Mod Wheel at zero, depending on the effect, there can be slight distortion as the floor of the effect may not be zero when the Mod wheel is at zero. Remove/disable the distortion from the leslie effect within the effect itself if possible.
Give that a try. This should clean up the sound so that the hammond is more towards your liking. At that point if your gripe is just the leslie simulation itself, try a Neo Ventilator, the new GSI Burn (which is about to be introduced) or even a Motion Sound. I run the KB3 through a Neo Vent or a Motion Sound Pro3T, sounds pretty sweet to me. I also prefer the clean organ to a dirty one. The Vent or Motion Sound can provide the appropriate distortion (if warranted/needed) so I don’t want the organ to be dirty.
