Hi,

I wonder if the ksetlisters are Mac or PC people?

Regards,
Fran

You can vote both. I let the poll open to multiple choices.

Thanks

Fran

I got into Macs in 1998 when PCs weren't very good for music applications. My wife and son have PCs. They are always having some kind of problem, my Macs just work all the time. Although Macs are more expensive they run efficiently years longer than a PC. Just my experience.

Just thanked tz_keyz thinking I was "liking it".

Mac here, as they just work. The GUI is pretty handy when dealing with multiple windows and virtual screens. Also use it for software development, as it's built on Unix.

PC, alienware notebook, it is more powerful than any Mac notebook i have ever seen, with 1.5TB hard drive, and 16 gigs of RAM. However, I need assistance linking my PC3X to be a midi controller for my PC, on a music editing program such as ACID Pro. Does anyone either know how to link the PC3X to this program, or could suggest a program that is very compatible with the PC3X.

You really can't make valid cross platform comparisons. If the software you are used to runs only on a Mac, then you're stuck in Mac World. I'll admit I'm not cutting edge as far as programs. I use Digital Performer, Peak, and Sibeluis.

Sure you can, there's Hackintosh, and you can install Windows on Apple's hardware, so... It's pretty much a valid comparison.

I thought this poll was all about operating system, as Mac and PC hardware are pretty much the same. To be honest, I'd rather have a slower Mac than a faster Windows. Just my experience.

Hi,

The idea behind it is to check how's the Mac vs PC war currently among the ksetlisters. To see if it is skewing towards one platform or another...

I didn't want it to make it OS specific but I could have... I'll do another one... to check if there are other Linux users around ;-)

Regards,
Fran

I stand corrected. I was thinking pre-Intel processors on Mac. Is there 100% compatibility????

PPC is a totally different thing. Even a lower-end PC kills them nowadays...

I understand, but we're entering an era where the only difference in computers may be the OS. Is there 100% compatibility running OSX on a PPC? The high price of macbooks always bothers me.
