Hi,
I'm curious what the ksetlisters think about the number of programs in a keyboard.... do you buy a keyboard based on the number of programs/presets it has? how many you want?
Regards,
Fran
One item you left off of your poll is "Able to load new programs and samples"
I mean let's face it, one of the PC3K's best features is the ability to allow a virtually endless number of sounds simply by tweaking and sampling new ones.
To my mind in an age where we've all been running gigabyte computers for all of this past century, I'm appalled at keyboards which skimp out on memory and act like they are doing you a favor giving you a couple of hundred megs of RAM and ROM. Likewise the use of tacky 8 bit and 16 bit CPUs when 64 bit computing power has also been around for well over a decade.
Unfortunately it seems to be only a recent development that manufacturers are catching up to the curve these days. Otherwise, so far everyone has been playing catchup and keep away aiming for the lowest common denominator since otherwise "if they aren't doing it why the hell should we bother trying?" ![]()

Hi,
Well, Gary you raise a good point, and I'm counting that, in the products that we cover in ksetlist.com, we can load programs, well, that's why ksetlist.com exists
The sample issue, it's a whole different beast in itself, that's why It's not part of this specific poll.

Fran
