Hi, does enyone know, how to create (or have) weather sounds - wind, rain, thunder for PC3
All my previous synths had it in general midi sounds, but Kurzweil PC3 does not; New PC3K enables players to load own samples, but I have no idea how to make it for PC3

Hi,

Have you checked the Sonikmatter and Cunka (Mastering VAST) forums? There can be found thunder, rain, storm (some real good ones). Undortunately I do not remember anymore who had uploaded them :(
Check the download sections.

BR,
Matti

Yes, I have already checked Sonikmatter after posting firt post. I found some. Quality is not so good, but I'm re-programming them a bit. So when I finish it, I could put it here somewhere...
Thanks for Cunka forum - I'm gonna check it right now...

Old thread here but was wondering if anyone had Thunder and Rain that could be used for Riders on the Storm by The Doors.
Sonikmatter had them and I thought I downloaded them but I've lost them.

Funny coincidence department... I'm in the exact same fix.

Will let you and the forum know if I get lucky. Hoping you'll do the same :)

The Kurzweil sample library for the K2x has a few files with special FX sounds, and there's even one with thunder and lightning:

LIGHTNIN.KRZ:

Program 200 Lightning1
Program 201 Lightning2
Program 202 Lightningbird
Program 203 Lightning4
Program 204 Impact
Program 205 Impact2
Program 206 Rumble1
Program 207 Cracking1
Program 208 Cracking2

You should be able to import this into a PC3K without problems, but you need to re-add effects.

The program library for the K2x also has a few file with sound FX, but these are created without extra samples and/or V.A.S.T., so the may or may not work on the PC3.

WET1.KRZ:

Program 200 Crashing Waves
Program 201 Hard Rain
Program 202 Loud Waves
Program 203 Downpour
Program 204 Downpour2

SCIFI.KRZ:

Program 200 Cymbal Fly By
Program 201 Doomsday
Program 202 Large Crackle
Program 203 Tight Crackle
Program 204 Thunder Storm
Program 205 Car Or A Storm
Program 206 Play lo 4 crackl
Program 207 percussive thing

RADFILM.KRZ:

[Selection]

Program 209 Lunar Shores
Program 211 Wind+Bells
Program 221 Ocean 1
Program 243 Ocean 2
Program 244 Rainstorm
Program 249 Stream
Program 250 River
Program 265 Seacave
Program 275 Ocean 3

The K2000/K2500 factory preset also already had a few sound FX, for example #195 "Thunder Storm", #196 "Northern Winds" and #197 "Doomsday", which you can get from the K2500 object file.

Some of these K2x presets have already been converted to the PC3 (with varying success) by other users here or on Mastering V.A.S.T. Just search the forums for K2000 or K Series sounds. Some of them can be found here, where you can also find an archive of the Sonikmatter downloads:

Happy Auditioning!
