Congratulations!

Glad to hear that you've reached a milestone and I appreciate all the work people put into their contributions here, but I'm curious about two things?

1) How long did it take to reach this milestone?

2) How many people are still active participants overall?

C´mon, don´t give that thing a bad taste... There are 2000 people who wanted to download the sounds here. That means there are more than 2000 people with Kurzweils an a computer in the world.

ksetlist.com started in 2011 and 4 years later we are still alive. I think that's something to celebrate.

You raise a very important issue, participation. There could be many reasons why users might not upload more sounds to ksetlist.com. Many people don't know how to create sounds. Many of the users here have SP4s that don't offer on-board editing and they don't use the Sound Tower editor. Others think their sounds are not good enough to be shown and they don't dare to upload them. On the other hand, some sell their own sound products and, obviously, they don't want to give them for free. Although there are some of these users that have actually uploaded some sounds to show their level of programming. There's also the ones who do share but then they see that not a lot of people do it, and then they get tired and stop sharing.

The reasons are many but the reality is also clear. We don't have the number of uploads that I would expect with such a big number of registered users. Also, even suggestions are good enough to be posted. Like, "for such song of such artist I like to use this factory program even if it's not exactly like the original it works for me".

On the other side, we have Kaffimusic here and few can say that

Thanks to everybody that upload sounds, you are the ones that create this site. You have a little corner in heaven, full of synths of all kinds.

And last, I don't think I have talked about money very often, but I pay the server and domain out of my pocket. It's not much and, for the last year or so I'm using Google ads, as you see, to try to pay for that... hoping that that will be enough to avoid wife's complaints...
