Geesh... I just don't understand why my sliders don't respond to volume. I am doing a set up and I want to be able to assign a program to a slider to control the volume. ie. I have a thunder sound on Zone 5 . I want to be able to assign slider I to volume so I can fade in and out. It just won't respond. Any suggestions to what I am missing??? Tks.

Hi KC

Following your example, on Zone 5 you have to go to the SLIDR (or SLID2) page and assign the desired slider Destination (Dest) to cc7/volume.

Below is a link to an online tutorial all about the basics of building Setups including assigning sliders to volume (scroll down to the bottom for the slider discussion):

If you have already done this and still no success please contact me directly via the support form below and we can delve further:

Hi all,

just to say that I've got some strange problems with volume sliders on my PC3K8.
In some setups with sliders affected to volume on a part, when I play setup, the part stops playing as the volume is sent to 0 without using the slider.
When I modify the slider control to OFF, all works perfectly.
So, it's very difficult to use volume sliders on setups.

Anyone has already encountered this trouble?

Thx
Yann

When it happens trying touching the slider that controls the volume and see if the volume returns. If it does then you have sliders that are going bad, in some cases a deoxit type product might return the sliders to a working condition. In some cases the slider may need replacing.

before going the (more) expensive route ...

My older KURZ PC361 showed "jumping to zero" value issues,- also when not moving the sliders while playing.
I´ve found out it was caused by vibration of the instrument and some dust inside the sliders as well.
Cleaning the sliders w/ compressed air and a tiny bit of vaseline spray lubricating the sliders fixed the issues sucessfully and for month now.
To do the work we opened the instrument and removed the slider board for better access.

DC, our methods are the same other than i recommended deoxit and you recommended compressed air. What are we talking, a $5 difference? Is that the more expensive route you were talking about?

Nothing against your method.
When I said "more expensive" I meant replacement faders.
OTOH, where I live, Deoxid products are the most expensive ones (quantity/ price relation) and hard to find.
Deoxid is very good, no question, but also not always necessary.
So,- we had the stuff I mentioned in former post available anyway and it worked.
I dunno what´s wrong w/ that !

thx

Hi all,
thx for your answers.
I fixed the problem as setting the slider 1 not to 0 and it's ok, no more problem.
I will try deoxit solution

Thx again
