Is it true that if I have the Kore 64 board and the new German Grand board installed in my PC3K8 that there is nowhere to store programs that I make myself? I have heard that the German Grand goes into the 128M RAM slot, so that eliminates the ability to store anything new.
If this is true, could/would Kurzweil come up with an adapter/expansion system so as to be able to add more expansion boards thus freeing up the 128M RAM slot? Just a simple adaptation with a plug-in cable attached to a separate case housing 3 "or more" extra plug-in slots for future boards like the Kore 64 and German Grand. R&D??? Can you do it?? Please?? I know that keyboards get changed and replaced, but I wish there was more expansion ability built into these boards from the get go. It took me so long to come up with $3000.00 plus ... can't keep upgrading, but expanding on my current board would be easier. JMO. DON"T SHOOT!!!
It's completely false.
By installing the GG board in place of the 128MB RAM you only lose the possibility to load external samples in the PC3K, and thus you are forced to limit your sound design to waveforms already installed in the keyboard ROM (or in the Kore64 expansion).
The Kore64 is not involved in this, as it is placed in the other slot of your board.
So I can modify a Rhodes sound for example, and save my version to a "User" program space? That's great then. Thanks cecchino.
Still would be nice to have a couple of more slots tho, but of course we would still need more expansion boards to be developed. Haha.
Feel free to give a shout if you need help with modifying any of the Rhodes programs... I created many of them.
Though I'm no longer working for Kurzweil full-time, I'm happy to assist whenever I can. ![]()
Did it help?
I would like to echo Dave's thanks to Fran for setting up this site. It is AWESOME!! Great tech help from users as well as great sounds to download. I really appreciate all the helpful posts. Thanks again Fran.
Hi,
Thanks everybody. You are the ones creating this site with your contributions. I just put the framework.
I just wish we could have a little more participation from the more of 1900 users we are, specially uploading sounds for famous songs, which is the main purpose of ksetlist.com but I don't lose hope ![]()

Damn, I have many setups programmed the last 2 years. But I am too lazy to pick it all apart, save them one by one, load each one up individually, and also write a description of how it is meant to be played. Since I use a 5 octave keybed many sounds are squeezed together and things can be played just one way and many of them are transposed, too. To fit the keybed, to fit the band and also to fit my abilities to play in different keys. I guess many people can´t do much with that. Even worse without a proper "manual" for it.
Hi
Re making contributions...
I just got my board but I have had a chance to make up about 6 Setups for specific tunes and I'm happy to share them. A few have external samples and I'm just a bit unclear as to how to save it from my board in a format that I can then upload here for others to use. If I just save the sound to my thumb drive, will that sound contain all the necessary linked samples/keymaps etc??
